Shiro Nozawa luxury western-style apartments are new to Nozawa Onsen Village, and have been renovated from an old Japanese ryokan. The renovation has set out to retain the charm of the old Japanese building while incorporating new western-style design and luxury. Shiro has a combination of one, two and three bedroom apartments. All the Shiro apartments are fully self-contained and with fully-equipped kitchens.  There is a private onsen in the building for guests, and some apartments have their own private onsen baths, the first western style apartments to offer this in the village. The lodge also contains its own café, complete with foot onsen from which to sip your tea, hot chocolate, latte or beer.

 

Shiro is located in the center of Nozawa Onsen Village on the oldest, and arguably the most picturesque, street in the village. At the top of the street, there is a delightful and very famous cooking onsen which the village locals continue to use to cook their vegetables and famous onsen eggs. The cooking onsen is only a 2-3 minute walk up the street from Shiro.

After only a 10-minute walk, you are at the Yu Road travelator which takes you directly to Hikage Gondola, central ski school, and the slopes. For access to most well known village restaurants, Shiro is only a 5-minute walk away. Shiro is truly placed in one of the most ideal locations in the village.
